CRIMEWATCH
Well crimewatch is very popular and everyone knows it airs on BBC One. It comes on at nine 'oclock once a week which is every sundays. The shows week viewing figures are about 29,206, this is similar to my kind of content as i am talking about drugs and legalizing it in crimewatch they could be showing people with drug problems and they will be going against what i will be saying. well my show can beat it by having it appear on well known channels that audience mostly tend to watch.

TRAFFIC COPS
I personally think Traffic cops is more towards a niche audience as not everyone would particularly want to stay up and watch this as it may be interesting however peopoe already know how police handle situations so this doesnt really have high veiwing figures it is about 11,206 weekly, this formats the content with mine as again my content is about drugs the traffic cops handle all sorts of situation espescially to do with drugs. This channel normally appear on ITV1.

THE NEWS

Channel four news appears on channel four as you can see in the name of the programme it self i wold say this is not similar to mine but however the content can match as i have mentioned before im talking about legalizing cannabis in UK, in the news they have showed many events in hyde park about legalizing weed and other situations related to cannabis the viewing fugures weekly on here is about 35,231. It would be difficult beating the news as everyone watches it and wants to know what would be going on around the world even placing my documentary on well watched channels i think that that it would not be able to beat the news and my documentary would have a niche audience.

Well i would like to broadcast my documentary either on BBC One or channel four as they both as you  can see have got the higher rating howeve rif you look at the difference showing it in the evening makes alot more of a dofference because everyone is at home in the evening and not out wokring.

Production log 4

This is my last week of editing my documentary. After showing mr.philipsaon my almost completed documentary, i had alot more to do that i thought i had done. For example the sound was not at its best also i had to add some transitions in which helped the documentary flow much more better and make it look like a documentary as in some of the peices i had cut out to make it into one flowing scene was abit hard so the transitions had helped me with that alot.

I also had to re-film a day before some of the information i had previously filmed had not been said.
On friday i had finally finished my documentary with all transitions and sounds adjusted.

My Final Proposal

The documentary topic i have chosen to do will be about legalizing cannabis in the UK/England, his would be minimum 5 minutes long including interviews facts and figures.

AIM:
My aim of would be to show people that leglazing cannabis in this country would not be harmful and how other poepl view their opinion on this hopefully making the audience have a similar view on the topic. i would provide full informatin for the people who do not know what cannabis is and what it does.

CONTENT:
In video i will be including alot of information that would be helpful to the viewers i will also be including opinion from lots of diffeent people as a topic like this needs a variety of people views and thoughts. i will be fair to both parties if you are for or against legalzing cannabis. i wil be inteviewing a drug user a drug dealer and stating facts about cannabis my self also i will be including vox pops which is interviewing people on streets about their opinion.

TARGET AUDIENCE:
My target audience would mainly be from ages 16-30, british and both male and female and it can be any ethinicity, i will produce as much educational information i possibly can and also being careful iin what i show in my documentary and what i say as i will be talking about an illegal drug in this country. i would want my audience to understand what point i would be viewing.

FORMAT:
The format of the documentary I wil be making is participatory. This is when I my self will be presenting and being involved in the documentary. I will have to make sure that i have the audience enganged by changing my tone of voice and showing alot of hand movements also not keeping to the same person or topic for a long period of time.

GENRE:
The Genre will be a documentary, there are all different types of documentaries however mine will be serious alsoIi will have to make it and structure it like a documentary too.

STYLE:
The style I will be using is simple and not too complicated, I will have lots of different locations and camera tricks to keep my audience engaged, I will also have all diferent kinds of people so my audience again will stay engaged. I will have facts shwon in my doccumentary with my voice over it also I will have an archive footage that would last around 30 seconds max, however I will be using my own voice and the not the person on the original footage. I may or may not have music as I might ruin the serious tone fo the documentary.

SHOTS:
I will be using all different kinds of shots for the audience to be engaed also to have everything fully viewed in my video.

I will be using longshots and paning for a cut away, this is when I would have to be stating facts, mid shots will be used for both peice to camera and interviews, I think these shots are the most important for a documentary as using shots like close-ups and high and low shots ruin the affect of making a documentary.

Five Key Questions

Why do people regularly smoke cannabis?
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081103140443AAiNUSO
In this link i have provided that people have given all different types of answer to why they smoke cannabis. Most is for medical reasons and some is for recretional reasons.
my first expert link is from 'Talk to Frank', http://www.talktofrank.com/, here they talk about what weed does, both positive and negative sides, for example weed can get you relaxed as it mentions, however the side effect can cause paranoia.
The second example i will give of an expert is from 'teenage health freak', http://www.teenagehealthfreak.org/question/why-do-people-smoke-cannabis, on this site it explains why people smoke cannabis for exmaple, out of curosity, peer pressure and again tells you both sides about good and bad factors of weed. third expert would be a website called Quora, http://www.quora.com/Cannabis/Why-do-people-smoke-pot-weed-marijuana-cannabis, on this site it goes back into the history about weed and why people take it, in here they tell you people smoke weed to again , medical reasons and recreational.

How many people have been arrested smoking cannabis in the UK?
Mail online, http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-207021/Cannabis-arrests-pointless--cop.html , on this website is says alot of under 18's has been arrested, does not have a precise number of how many were arrested however it was mostly younger people. Second link, http://menmedia.co.uk/manchestereveningnews/news/s/1594301_ten-arrests-in-cannabis-farm-dawn-raids, here is says ten people in manchester have been arrested on the news, the exact number or any information provided for this, however it seems alot of people do get arrested, which is kind of a positive point as so many people are being arrested why dont we legalize it so theres more other important cases to worry about instead of arresting someone with the posession of cannabis when the whole world/half of the people in england smoke it, they are all aged between 18-56 yr olds. Third link would be http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3936357.stm, this is from the BBC news it explains that cannabis arrests fallen by a third again not an exact number.

Should it be legalized?
I personally think yes it should be legalized with the amount of people that have been arrested, also the amount of people that smoke cannabis is a huge number and the goverment should consider it, also other countries and USA states have had it legalized and you do not hear any problem from them.
My first link will be http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3936357.stm, here he talks about the rights and wrongs and how people would react, also about the law however this guy is biased and has both sides of what could happen when it is legalized and when it is not which is now. Second link would be, http://www.publicserviceeurope.com/article/2140/cannabis-why-is-it-still-illegal, in this link it goes for leglaizing it as it states, 'the fact that cannabis is still illegal is just plain crazy. According to the United Nations, cannabis is the most widely used illegal drug in the world and is used regularly by hundreds of millions of people', this shows that you havnt heard no problems and deaths caused by cannabis and no arests due to cannabis which mean police can work on other crimes and more serious drugs like for exmaple heroin and cocaine. Third link would be http://idebate.org/debatabase/debates/health/house-believes-cannabis-should-be-legalised, here they are all for legalizin drugs showing statistics and how widely the drug cannabis is used and how it is less harmfull than tabacco and alcohol as them two substances are legalized.

Who is resposible for this ban on cannabis?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabis_in_the_United_Kingdom#Cannabis.27_enduring_legacy_on_British_culture ,
if you scroll down to modern industrial cannabis market, it says that cannabis is legal however you have to have a licesnce to grow and process, however this is for fibre. second link is http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-20165371, this shows that europe needs protest againt not banning weed from coffee shops however this is down to just people not the actual government as they has legalized it them selves in the first place. Third link would be http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Who_banned_marijuana, here it shows you from the begginning who banned the drugs from america as it was mostly due to racial discrimination to mexicans.

What are the benefits of cannabis?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/health/emotional_health/addictions/cannabis.shtml, in this link it tells you the effects and what canabis exactly is and what it does to you body, it does have benefits for exmaple curying or helping with pain and diseases, also keeping you relaxed. second links http://www.ibtimes.com/%E2%80%98medical%E2%80%99-marijuana-10-health-benefits-legitimize-legalization-742456, here he tells us that other medicines for exmaple paracetamol or blood pressure tablets have caused a thousand deaths also prescripted drugs however cannabis has not caused any deaths and also have actualy cured a few diseases and sickness. Third link is http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080828205732AAWzRsd, here there is avariety of answers mostly telling people it is the most beneficial plant on earth and others jus have a normal view on it, saying  what the benefits are and not.
